Onyx and Spondylus Eye Silver Earrings

Spondylus is a precious seashell from the south Ecuadorian coast. It is either coral-colored or purple. In Precolombian times, the shells were used as money and have been found in the Amazon, in Colombia, and in Peru. Because it is a seashell, it may not be uniform in the back.
